Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Youth Technical Training Society Centre Sector-11 Chandigarh, Session – 7

  • On 21st November 2024, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Twinkle Arora, Computer Instructor, to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their Students at Youth Technical Training Society Centre Sector-11 Chandigarh.  Around 18 students attended the session.

     

    Ms. Twinkle Arora addressed the gathering and gave a brief introduction on organ donation to the participants.

     

    Youth Technical Training Society is established as on April 16, 1986 as a Registered Societies (Non-Government) in Chandigarh. The motive of Youth Technical Training Society is Health & Family Welfare, HIV/AIDS, Rural Development & Poverty Alleviation, Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation, Women’s Development & Empowerment, Youth Affairs, Children Vocational Training in Chandigarh.

     

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

     

    The following topics were explained in detail:

    • Organ donation and its need
    • When and how does organ donation take place
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • The transplant waiting list in India
    • Brain death
    • Difference between brain death and coma
    • Contraindications to organ donation
    • Transplant Law
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Organ donation Myths and Fact
    • Eye Donation

     

    At the end, Ms. Neha Sharma gave the vote of thanks. The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. The entire group was so energized that they support organ donation movement in a big way. It was indeed an amazing session.
