Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at St. John's High School, Sector - 26 Chandigarh

  • On 16th December 2024, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Shruti Garg, NSS Program Officer to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NSS volunteers at St. John’s High School Sector-26 Chandigarh. Around 38 students attended the session.

     

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

     

    The following topics were explained in detail:

    • Organ donation and its need
    • When and how does organ donation take place
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • The transplant waiting list in India
    • Brain death
    • Difference between brain death and coma
    • Contraindications to organ donation
    • Transplant Law
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Organ donation Myths and Fact
    • Eye Donation

     

    At the end, NSS volunteers gave the vote of thanks on behalf of NSS St. John's High School and thanked Ms. Neha for the greatly informative session.
