On 24th January 2024, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr Nitin Kavar, Medical officer of Asahi India Glass Limited for giving awareness about the Organ Donation to workers of Asahi India Glass Limited at the occasion of Foundation Day of Asahi India Glass Limited, MIDC, Taloja. Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi held an awareness session and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She introduced the concept ofOrgan and tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. Cardiac andBrain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the public. She also described that tissue donation can happen even at home which caught attention of the crowd. She then discussed about Organ Donations that can happening case of Brain-Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor which was somewhat familiar to the gathering. She also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation. Lastly Ms. Prarthana told few heart touching Donor stories to the audience so they can empathize the power of organ donation. Gathering was also invited to join our volunteering program. About 74 workers of Asahi India Glass Limited and supporters were attended the session. About 28 pledges were taken few were filled online. We thank Dr Nitin Kavar for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
