On January 7, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation had the honour of hosting a profoundly impactful organ donation awareness session for the second batch of students at the Ocean Dream Marine Training Institute in Belapur, Navi Mumbai. This session aimed to inspire and educate the young minds about the life-changing significance of organ and Tissue donation.
Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi led the session with compassion and dedication, explaining the profound concepts of brain death and cardiac death, while emphasizing the incredible life-saving potential of organ and tissue donation. Her heartfelt words about how a single act of generosity could give someone a second chance at life resonated deeply with the students. With 44 students actively participating, the room was filled with attentive listeners, their hearts and minds opened to the selfless beauty of organ donation. A shared sense of purpose and hope permeated the atmosphere, making the session truly impactful.
The students asked thoughtful and heartfelt questions, reflecting their genuine concern and curiosity about organ donation. Questions like, “Can we donate the entire eye after corneal donation?” and “What does a Green Corridor mean?” showcased their deep interest in understanding the topic and their desire to advocate for this noble cause.
The MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Aarohi for her unwavering support in organizing this impactful session. Her dedication, combined with the enthusiastic participation of the students, transformed this awareness session into more than just an event—it became a catalyst for change, a call to action, and an opportunity to inspire others to make a meaningful difference.
This session served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of awareness and compassion. It reinforced the belief that, together, we can build a more informed, empathetic, and selfless society—one where the gift of life through organ donation shines as a beacon of hope for those in need.
