Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Gandhi Hospital, Panvel, Raigad

  • On March 12, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an insightful organ donation awareness session for the nursing staff and faculty of Gandhi Hospital, Panvel, Raigad.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi led the session, explaining the importance of organ and tissue donation, the process of organ retrieval and transplantation, and the critical role healthcare professionals play in spreading awareness. She also addressed common myths and concerns related to organ donation.

    A total of 16 participants attended the session, actively engaging in discussions. Thought-provoking questions raised during the session included:

    1. What is the age criteria for skin donation?
    2. Is police involvement required in all cases of organ donation, or only in medico-legal cases (MLC)?

    By the end of the session, 02 staff members took the pledge to become organ donors, demonstrating their commitment to saving lives.
