Awareness Session on Organ Donation Conducted at GMERS College by MOHAN Foundation

  • On June 8, 2024, Team MOHAN Foundation conducted an enlightening awareness session for the 1st-year students and staff of GMERS College. The primary goal of the session was to educate attendees about the significance of organ donation and the crucial role that NGOs play in raising public awareness.

    The session covered a range of important topics, including:

    • The difference between brain stem death and coma, addressing common myths and misconceptions.
    • The legal frameworks and state government guidelines related to organ donation.
    • Eligibility criteria for organ donors.
    • Types of organs and tissues that can be donated.
    • The overall process of organ donation.

    The discussion highlighted how NGOs contribute to spreading awareness and clarifying doubts surrounding organ donation. The session ended with a dynamic question-and-answer segment, allowing approximately 110 participants to seek further clarification on various aspects of organ donation.
