Awareness Session at Apollo Hospital's Pharmacy Department, Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai

  • On September 14, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an informative awareness session on organ donation for the staff of the Pharmacy Department at Apollo Hospital. The session was attended by 15 staff members and aimed to provide comprehensive information about organ donation.

    The session was led by Ms. Vaishali, the in-charge of the Pharmacy Department. Ms. Prarthana, Public Education Counsellor of the MOHAN Foundation, detailed the concepts of brain death and cardiac death. She addressed several key questions from the staff, including:

    • Can a person who has previously donated one kidney donate their second kidney after being declared brain dead?
    • Is organ donation possible without family support?

    Ms. Prarthana provided thorough answers to these queries, enhancing the participants understanding of the subject.

    At the conclusion of the session, 10 participants committed to organ donation by taking the pledge. Ms. Vaishali expressed her gratitude to the MOHAN Foundation for organizing this important session, reinforcing the significance of raising awareness about organ donation.
