Alisha Abdullah, India's first woman in motorsports, pledges her organ.

  • On Sept 17, 2024, a special visitor arrived at MOHAN Foundation office of MOHAN Foundation.  A trailblazer for women in motorsports, Ms Alisha Abdullah, India’s first female national racing champion decided to support the cause of organ donation.

    Alisha won the MRF National Go-Karting Championship the age of 13 and at 15 years she came 5th in the JK Tyres National Championship in 2004. Ten years later this motorsport enthusiast was the first Indian woman to take the podium at the international Toyota Vios Cup in 2024.

    Apart from her achievement in motor sports, in 2022, Alisha was appointed as the Tamil Nadu State Women President of the National Human Rights Anti-Crime and Anti-Corruption Bureau and in the same year she decided to serve the people of Tamil Nadu by joining the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

     On September 17, 2024, to commemorate the 74th birthday of Honourable Prime Minister of India Thiru. Narendra Modi, Ms. Alisha Abdulla pledged as Organ Donor at MOHAN Foundation, Chennai, to create awareness regarding organ donation.

    She mentioned, “I am proud to say that I am an organ donor  and that I took this step on our honourable Prime Minister’s birthday. Through this I wish to bring in more awareness on deceased organ donation. In-spite of our huge population we are still lagging in Organ Donation. A single person can save up to 8 lives. Everyone should come forward and join hands in promoting this noble cause.

    Ms Alisha received her donor card from Dr Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation, and requested her followers to pledge for noble cause. This was followed by a short press meet represented by India Today, National NEWS, ABP Live, TN NEWS and other local medias
