Organ Donation Awareness "Takes Off" In Chandigarh

MOHAN ( Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network ) Chandigarh chapter represented by Sudhir Dewan were invited by AFWWA ) Air Force Wives Welfare Association) to do awareness about its organ donation activities to the Air Force Wives at 3 BRD, Chandigarh.
A non-government, non-profit NGO MOHAN, has already to its credit more than 1100 organ donations, mainly in South India. AFWWA which is known for its empathy towards many social causes, besides the welfare of Air Force Families are involved in uplift of the economically weaker sections by educating their children and helping them in need.
Around 30 Wives of Air Force Personnel attended the session. Importance of organ donation, gap between the demand and availability of organs and human and social and religious issues related to organ donation were discussed.
Besides actively participating , Mrs. Kumud Singh, President AFWWA and wife of Air Commodore Suresh Singh, invited MOHAN to make another presentation to a much larger audience on 9th August 2011.
Dewan assured of full participation of MOHAN along with Samvedna and Ritu (Volunteers) and also made available the information booklets and DONOR Cards at the AFWWA office on the request of its president.
