MOHAN Foundation participated in the fourth trilogy camp held at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Langol

MOHAN Foundation was invited to participate in the fourth trilogy camp on Blood, Eye, and Organ Donation, held at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Langol, on May 14, 2024. The event, jointly organized by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, Manipur (AVBD), and the Personality and Talent Development Organization, saw the representation of Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer, and Ms. Thoidingjam Udayini Khuman, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation, who set up an information and pledge counter.

 

Mr. Kumarjit Singh, Treasurer of AVBD, coordinated the camp, with the Manipur State Eye Bank (MSEB) also establishing an eye donation pledge counter.

 

The MF team members explained fundamental concepts of organ and eye donation, explained the waiting list registry in India, delineated types of organ donation, simplified the concept of brain death, and underscored the importance of family consent in the donation process throughout the camp. Ms. Monica & Ms. Udayini addressed several queries, distributing pamphlets containing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation.

 

Approximately 18 participants visited the pledge counter who received detailed information. Among them, 7 pledged to donate their eyes and organs.
