On April 28, 2024, MOHAN Foundation inaugurated its Nagpur center at Seth Pessulal Dharamshala, Opp GMCH TB Ward at Ajni Road, Nagpur.

 

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the following dignitaries -

Shri Pratap Dewani & Representatives of other NGO’S working for Organ donation. During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Raj Gajbhiye emphasized the importance of organ donation, & said “Organ donation is not just about giving life, it's about giving hope and a chance for someone to continue their journey. It's a noble act that can transform lives and build a healthier, more compassionate society." Together, GMCH and MOHAN Foundation, have successfully facilitated 5 deceased donations after brain death & 22 corneal donations during the last one year.

 

Dr. Waghmare felicitated a deceased donor family - Mother of donor Rakesh Barsagade, whose Liver & pair of Corneas were donated. Ms. Bhavna Jagwani suggested building an Organ donor memorial in a public place like in Jaipur. Mrs. Veena Wathore, Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur organized the inauguration event. Located within the premises of Seth Pessulal Dewani Dharamshala, the newly unveiled center stands as a beacon of hope for organ failure patients in and around Nagpur. Working in close collaboration with GMCH the Foundation's Transplant Coordinators will liaise with the hospital's healthcare staff to sensitively counsel families who face the difficult decision of organ donation.

 

Expressing his support for this noble cause, Shri Pratap Dewani, trustee of Seth Pessulal Dewani Trust, remarked, "The Seth Pessulal Dewani Charitable Trust is honoured to provide a platform for MOHAN Foundation's invaluable work. We believe this collaboration will significantly enhance organ donation promotion and counseling, ultimately granting a new lease of life to those in need. "MOHAN Foundation Nagpur's team members, Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Bhagyashree Nighot worked hard for the success of this event.
