Organ Donation Awareness Program at Alagappa University |

To create awareness on Organ Donation, Youth Red Cross of Alagappa University, Karaikudi TN organized an awareness program on February 16, 2024, for the students of Department of Women of Studies. The event commenced with Ms. Arshiya Fathima, engaging the audience 240 with organ donation by playing a quiz, followed by a brief talk by Mr. Ganesh C Marketing Coordinator. He focused on the importance of organ donation, concept of brain death, time factor, how to avail organ through government, government schemes, myths & scams and finally concluded the session with Q&A session. The university invited other guests and local dignitaries to speak about the cause. This program begun with the welcome note by Dr. Manimekalai, Prof. & HOD Department of Women of Studies who welcomed all the following dignitaries.
Dr Ravi, greeted the gathering and handed over the pledge cards to the dignitaries. All 240 members took pledge to support and to promote organ donation. the pledge was in tamil. promisig to support the cause of organ donation. Thru Karti P Chidambaram, shared his views on organ donation, and current statistics on organ donation and how people are suffering without the proper availability organs on time. Followed by Mr. S. Mangudi, MLA Karaikudi, Dr. Thanuskodi and Dr. Vinayaga Moorthi sharing their views on Organ Donation. During the event all the students wrote a short note to all the organ failure patients waiting for organs, to extend their support, all the dignitaries affixed these signatures to support organ donation in the notice board where these notes were displayed.
