Diwali is the high season for jewellers in India.  Nevertheless an organ donation talk was held at NAC Jewellers in Mylapore, Chennai, on November 11th, 2023. Organized by MOHAN Foundation, the talk aimed to raise awareness about the critical need for organ donation and the opportunity we have to donate our organs. Approximately 55 staff participated in the talk.

Ms. Arshiya Fathima H of MOHAN Foundation distributed green ribbons and information pamphlets providing essential information on the benefits of organ donation.

Ms. Arshiya briefly introduced activities of MOHAN Foundation and spoke in greater detail on organ donation, brain death, circulatory death, and becoming an organ donor, and addressed myths and stigma around organ donation.  She spoke of the donor card and the value of discussing the decision with family members. She also gave information about how an organ failure patient can register for a transplant.

Through engaging discussions, the event effectively highlighted the importance and need for organ donation. The talk concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session with Ms. Arshiya. Six staff were willing to become organ donors and picked up donor cards.
