On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, i.e 2^nd October 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. J. Surendar Reddy to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation. Dr Bhanu Prakash, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation was the key speaker who began the session by asking a few introductory questions on organ donation and explained the following topics in detail –

• Organ donation and its need in the society
• When and how does organ donation take place
• Organs that can be donated during life and after death
• Transplant waiting list in India
• Myths on Organ Donation
• Brain death
• Clinical aspects of brain death
• Contraindications to organ donation

The students actively participated in the session and posed several questions. To name a few

• Cost of Transplantation
• Green corridor

 Dr. Bhanu Prakash urged the participants to pledge for organ donation. Donor cards and brochures were distributed at the end of the session. Close to 30 people were present in the session
