On 23rd July 2023, organ donation awareness camp was organised by Mr. Jagdish Borude, transplant coordinator, MOHAN foundation at Narayangaon, Khed, Pune. The camp was coordinated by Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan and Sassoon General Hospital, Pune.
Mr Jagdish, along with Mr Arun Bansode, Mr Rushikesh, Mr Prathmesh Gaikwad, Mrs Alate and Mr Ratnabhushan were successfully conducted the camp on organ donation.The main aim of this camp is to spread awareness and sensitise general public about organ and body donation.
Mr. Jagdish gave introduction of MOHAN foundation and its role in organ donation and it's activities. Mr Jagdish then elaborated what is organ donation and body donation and basic concepts in organ donation to general public. People came one by one and Mr Jagdish along with other staff gave information on organ donation to each individual one by one and helped them to pledge for organ donation and distributed donor cards to each of them.

2.Concept and definition of Brain death
3.Types of death- Brain death and cardiac death
4.Organs and tissues donated after brain death and circulatory death
5.Why organ donation is important in India?
6.How one can save lives of 8 people
7.Body donation and it's importance.
8. Ischemic time of each organ and tissue
9. THOTA act 1994 and it's importance.
Participants had asked following questions during interaction :
1. Can transplanted organ be donated again if same person become brain dead?
2. Can organ and body donation done if person previously have not taken pledge as an organ donor?
3. Why solid organs can't be donated after cardiac death?
4. What are religious challenges those are faced while counseling for getting consent.
5. What is the process of eye donation and body donation if death happens at home?
6. What is the transplantion cost of kidney and liver transplant at private hospital and in government hospital and scemes for it?
The motive of the camp was to spread awareness and sensitise general public about organ and body donation.
There were 25 people took pledge as an organ donor.
At the end of the session, Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan felicitated Mr Jagdish along with other Sassoon Hospital staff.
