Masterclass on “Finding Your Voice”- a workshop for the employees of MOHAN Foundation & NATCO members

On January 14, 2023, MOHAN Foundation organised a masterclass on "Finding Your Voice," a workshop in collaboration with the Network and Alliance of Transplant Coordinators (NATCO), for its employees and NATCO members. The workshop was supported by the SBI Foundation.

The workshop covered an understanding of the blessing called our voice, tips on taking care of it, and exploring the framework "voice" in our interactions. In this stimulating masterclass, the speaker shared her insights on how to develop a strong and distinctive voice and to be more objective, compassionate, and confident while speaking to others.

Ms. Rashmi Shetty, Founder Director of The Third Eye, is an award-winning voice coach who coaches Chief Experience Officers and senior leaders with her framework of voice and helps enhance their vocal presence. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and is now on the Global Board of Trustees of the ICF Foundation. She was honoured with the "Iconic Woman for Making a Better World for All" award by the Women Economic Forum in July 2020.

Ms. Rashmi began the session by explaining that our voice is a precious gift that we must present to the world. The word "voice" has a common Latin root, i.e., vocare, which is equal to call, invoke, and name. She encouraged the participants to recognise their inner voice and to enhance the art of speaking. The following points were discussed in detail:

• The five elements of voice are volume, oscillation, intonation, clarity, and emotion.

• The art of reading aloud and understanding when to pause

• The significance of being vulnerable and authentic when speaking in order to build trust and safety with others

• Flexibility, grounding, confidence, and approachability are the four crucial qualities of an effective speaker.

• Understanding how much information to give; filtering and listening actively

• to learn about self-expression and the environment

• to be compassionate by using silence, metaphors, and non-judgment. Silence is sometimes far more powerful than words; it evokes awareness.

• Engagement occurs when the output is growth and awareness.

• Each one of us has an inner voice that we need to connect with, and engaging with that inner voice is very important.

Feedback from the participants:
