KCG College of Technology, located in Karapakkam, OMR Chennai was founded in 1998, by Dr. KCG Verghese, Founder-Chairman, with the vision “To Make Everyman a Success and No Man a Failure”. This institution is affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.  MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to create awareness for the students on October 07, 2022 at the College Auditorium. Mr. Ganesh C. and Dr. Hemal Kanvinde were the resource persons for the  sessions.

The session began with a warm welcome speech by the department HOD, Dr. Kavitha Balamurugan, Professor & Head of the Department, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, who welcomed the speakers and introduced to the audience. Mr Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator, then took over the stage and walked through the Concept of Organ Donation and Transplantation, Concept of Brain Death, safe guarding from scams and effective usage of organ donation helpline 1800 103 7100. Followed by the Q&A Session, in which many young engineering students had their doubts cleared.

Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer, conducted a role play based activity: Hospital based scenario of deceased organ donation. The students were energetic and showed more interest to be involved in the play and in learning what really happens at the hospital. Both the sessions were informative and interactive. Finally, the awareness session ended with vote of thanks by the college staff and warm round of applause.

MOHAN Foundation whole heartedly thank, the KCG College Management and Electrical Electronic Department for such a wonderful opportunity. 126 students and teaching staff participate and made the event a grand success. 11 pledged be become Organ Donors.
