On 28^th July 2022, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation for paramedical students of Kohinoor Medical College. Dr. Padmakar Suryawanshi- Director of Kohinoor Medical Institute, Aurangabad organized this programme.

Ms. Prarthana addressed the students with the ‘Concepts of Organ donation and Transplantation’. Her talk included basic concepts such as living donation and deceased donation, brain stem death and circulatory death, organs and tissues that can be donated, types of transplants and consent system followed in the world. She also emphasized the importance of donor pledge and discussing the wish with the family members.

Certain questions asked during the session were as follows:

1. What is the role of transplant coordinator in Organ Donation?
2. In a MLC case, what will be the role of a police?

Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi answered all the queries promptly. Around 54 participants attended the session and about 18 students pledged to become Organ donors.
