On 9^th February 2022 MOHAN Foundation and Aam Admi Party conducted  door to door campaign about Organ Donation at Siban Gaon Community, Nagpur. Mr. Vilash Lokhande, a candidate from Municipal Corporation of Jaitala community invited Mr. Bulu Behera to organize a stall for Siban Gaon community people. So Mr. Behera organized a stall with MOHAN Foundation’s donor cards, broachers, pledge form, standee and banners.

During this event he addressed the audience about MOHAN Foundation and its activities

He then discussed the below topics about organ donation

1. Concept of organ donation

2. Types of death-Brain death, Circulatory death

3. Tissues should be donated within what period of time?

4. Which organ and tissues can be donated after brain death?

5. Information about donor card was shared

6. MOHAN Foundation and its helpline number was shared with the audience

7. THO Act was explained

8. Information about governmental organizations like ROTTO-SOTTO, ZTCC and NOTTO was explained to the audience.

The following questions were asked by the audience

1. After a person’s death whom should we contact for organ donation?

2. Is buying and selling of organs legal?

3. Where is MOHAN Foundation’s head office?

Around 35 community members visited the stall and actively participated in the event. They asked more details about donor card and pledge forms. This event inspired 8 members to pledge their organs.

Feedback from the audience

The participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Bulu for conducting a meaningful session, which gave them a lot of insight about organ donation, which was new to them.
