On 16th Aug 2021, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on Organ Donation at main OPD section waiting area, Trauma ICU and social service department of B.J. GMC, Pune. Mr Jagdish Borude organised this campaign as a part of World Organ Donation Day celebration. An informative desk was also manned at main OPD section waiting area along with Marathi informative fliers on Organ Donation for the public. Mr Jagdish Borude began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and activities to the participants. She explained concepts of Organ Donation and explained which organs can be donated, types of donation, living donation, cadaver donation. She also explained the process of donation and transplantation statistics over the years. He also debunked common myths associated with organ donation. The organs and tissues that can be donated while living and after a person dies of circulatory death were listed out. He then focused on brain stem death and listed out the organs and tissues that could be donated. She also spoke about how the time is very crucial factor in transplanting organs from deceased donors. The Q&A session was a very informative one. Mr Jagdish answered all the queries promptly. Around 40 members attended the program and 30 pledged for Organ Donation.
