On 21^st Feb 2021, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation was invited by Mr Shushant Khobragade (Paryavaran Neetimulya Sanstha) for giving awareness about the Organ Donation to team members during Tree Plantation Drive under the project “Save Trees of Ajni Vann” held at NIT Complex Garden, Lashkaribagh Nagpur.

Ms Prarthana Dwivedi held an awareness session and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She introduced the concept of Organ and tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the public. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home which caught attention of the team members.

She then discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of Successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor which was somewhat familiar to the gathering. She also explained about the religious barrier & myths related to organ donation.

Ms Prarthana lastly explained few heart touching stories about organ donation to the audience so they can empathize the power of organ donation. Also they were invited to join in our volunteering program.

About 40 team members of Paryavaran Neetimulya Sanstha and their supporters attended the session. About 20 pledges were taken and few were filled online. We thank Mr Shushant for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
