On 14^th Aug 2020, Dr.Subha Murthy as invited by Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai and Jodhpur Garima for giving awareness about the Organ Donation on the occasion Organ Donation week

Dr Subha Murthy who is Former Faculty at Department of Pathology (DY Patil Medical College Nerul) who is Life Member MOHAN foundation held an awareness session and introduced Mohan Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She introduced the concept of Organ and tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home which caught attention of the crowd. She then discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles. She also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation. Lastly she spoke about her personal story as Kidney patient, then how she got a second chance of Life through Organ Donation from her mother.

About 60 participants attended the awareness session. Few participants took pledge to become Organ Donor online.
