Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Infosys, Pocharam, Telangana |
As per the CSR project, Infosys invited MOHAN Foundation to give a public education on organ donation and transplantation on July 16, 2019. Socially, every human being is responsible for the wellbeing of the other. Dr. Bhanu Chandra focused on these aspects and on organ donation and transplantation. Session was very interactive with questions, discussions and clarifications. The one hour with introduction to organ donation, transplantation and MOHAN Foundation was very interactive and the audience was eager to learn the new aspect and its procedure. Many were having doubts and misconceptions about this field, and it was clarified by Dr Bhanu Chandra. 35 participants attended the program and 31 participants pledged for organ donation with our donor card. After the presentation, the Coordinators for this program, Ms. Pallavi and her colleagues mentioned about the new project launched by Infosys Foundation, the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards, to catalyze social innovation in India. The objective of these awards is to accelerate innovation in the social sector, and provide a platform to help these solutions scale. The Aarohan Social Innovation Awards seek to recognize and reward individuals, teams or NGOs that are developing unique solutions for the social sector that have the potential to positively impact the underprivileged in India, at scale. In a nutshell, the session got a good response from the IT professionals. They were very enthusiastic to promote organ donation. They assured that they will create awareness in their family and friends circle. The coordinators showed an interest in conducting an “Angels of change” in the near future. |
