Angels of Change - Presentation by Ms. Deepa Kumari - Batch 6 |
On February 7, 2019, Ms. Deepa Kumari, a student volunteer from the Angels of Change (Batch 6), conducted her first public awareness session on organ donation. The session was conducted at Faculty of Law, Delhi University and it was a part of their annual NSS (National Service Scheme) program. Students and faculty members attended the session.
The last stage in the training of 'Angels of Change' Program requires the volunteers to organize and conduct a public awareness session on their own. This allows the MF staff to give feedback to the volunteer on the basis of the content, validity & accuracy of the information given to the participants before a certificate is awarded to them.
Ms. Deepa began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and its Angels of Change Training Program for Volunteers. She then encouraged the audience by convincing them that each one could be a hero by pledging to be an organ donor. She explained the types of organ donors, who all can donate and what all organs can be donated. She explained the concept of brain death with the help of a video and explained how it is different from coma.
Ms. Deepa kept the audience engaged by asking them questions or their views on different aspects of organ donation and transplantation. It was an extremely enthusiastic group who were keen to sign up for organ donation.
Dr. Pallavi Rekhi from the Foundation was present to give the necessary feedback. She addressed all the queries that the participants had post the session. To, name a few:
Close to 97 participants were present and about 10 Form-7 were picked up. |
