As part of what will be an ongoing process, a presentation on organ donation was made for the nurses of ICU department of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi on May 14, 2012. The talk mainly emphasized on the role nurses can play in the success of a deceased organ donor program and how they can work closely with the doctors and the Transplant Coordinator in identifying potential donors, educating families and maintenance of the brain death patient. The group consisted of 20 nurses and 1 brother. Some of the topics discussed were brain death, who can donate, what organs can be donated, THO act, ways of transplantation and eye donation. The nurses actively took part in the presentation.
