On 18^th December 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross – Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their First Aid Students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 30 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh College Students, Patient Care Attendants, Home Nursing, Nannies and Bus Conductors participated in the program.

Mr. Santosh Kumar, State Training Supervisor addressed the gathering and gave a brief introduction on organ donation to the participants.

Participants were given the presentation on organ donation and Brain Death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

In this talk she explained the following points: -

• Organ donation types and who can be a donor
• Organ donation statistics in India
• She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
• Difference between natural death and brain death
• Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
• Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
• Importance of Donor card
• To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation

After the talk participants asked a few questions which were answered to their satisfaction.

The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. Around 35 people were present in the room and 15 participants picked up the donor card. They love to share their wish with their families.
