The next one month training programme for transplant coordinators is scheduled to be held from 1st May 2012 to 31st May 2012 in Chennai. The course is open to graduates in Social Work/Sciences/Sociology/Clinical Psychology/Nursing/Medicine.
For hospital based candidates, we made a special provision so that they can attend the core session from 7th May 2012 to 12th May 2012.
All candidates are required to do a project. This is a course requirement for the one month training programme. After assessment and submission of the project, the candidate will be awarded a Certificate by MOHAN Foundation.
Curriculum:
Theoretical aspects of organ donation and transplantation including ethical, legal, cultural and religious aspects
Brain death diagnosis, management and certification
Donor identification and selection
- Grief counseling
- Sharing and simulation practice through case histories
Public education on organ donation
Networking with hospitals
Organ retrieval, storage and transport
Documentation
Media Relations
Project
Besides the above, visits to hospitals and families of deceased donors will be arranged.
