Government of Tamil Nadu presents MOHAN Foundation with The Best Performing NGO and Best Transplant Coordinator Awards |
To commemorate National Organ Donation Week, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu organized an event at the Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai on 24th November 2017.
Thiru. Edapadi. K. Palanisamy, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was the chief guest. Thiru. O. Panneerselvam, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. C. Vijayabaskar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ministers from various other Departments, Dr. Girija Vaidyanathan, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Government, Dr. Vimal Bhandari, Director, National Organ & Transplant Organization, Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department and various other government officials graced the event.
The organ donor families, who saved many lives by donating their loved ones’ organs were honoured by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the event. The government medical colleges and hospitals from Chennai, Trichy & Tirunelveli were recognised for their commendable work in organ transplantation. The experts from medical & paramedical fraternity and transplant coordinators were also felicitated for their exemplary work in deceased organ donation and transplantation programme.
MOHAN Foundation was recognised as Best Performing Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) for promoting deceased organ donation and transplantation. Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation received the award from Thiru. Edapadi. K. Palanisamy, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Ms. A. T. Sunitha, MOHAN Foundation who has been deputed at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital was one of the four transplant coordinators who were awarded as the Best Transplant Coordinators during the event. |
