PG Department of Social Work along with the NSS wing of Chevalier T Thomas Elizabeth (CTTE) College for Women, Perambur and MOHAN Foundation jointly presented an awareness talk on Organ Donation for the students on September 1st 2017, Friday. Mr. Siva Shankar and Mr. Jayaprakash Daniel represented MOHAN Foundation for this event. A Pre-Awareness survey was conducted. About 200 students attended the session.
This program began with an introduction to MOHAN Foundation and its activities by Mr. Siva Shankar. After a brief orientation, Mr. Jayaprakash Daniel explained the concepts, importance, procedure and misconceptions of organ donation. After the awareness talk, students came forward for discussion and reflection on the topic.
Discussion Points
After the Q/A session, information about the Angels of Change training program was given and survey sheets were collected. Participants were given information brochures on Organ Donation. Nearly 50+ students came forward to pledge for organ donation with others extending their support for the cause through promotion. Students’ reflection and feedback proved event worthy.
‘I would like to be an Organ Donor so that I can make someone to live through which I can live’ Dr. Hanifa Ghosh, Principal in her words expressed complete willingness for organ donation and promotion of the cause.
