Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai was invited to conduct an awareness program on organ donation by Police Recruitment School (PRS), Madurai on 25^th May 2017 at 2:00pm. 50 officers at the rank of Inspector, Sub-Inspector and Head constable from Madurai, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Theni and Ramanathapuram attended the programme. Mr. S. Venkatesh, Transplant Coordinator, Government Rajaji Hospital addressed the participants.

• Brain death
• Organs and tissues that can be donated – during life, after brain death, after circulatory death
• Legal aspects of organ donation
• Deceased organ donation – Process
• Role of police in the medico-legal cases
• Donor Card
• Role of police in facilitating deceased organ donation
• Myths and misconceptions

After the session, all 50 police personnel expressed their support for organ donation and pledged by picking up a donor card.
