Father spreads awareness on Organ Donation in son’s memory. |
MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program on organ donation by SOLOMON MEMORIAL TRUST in Perambur on 30th April 2017 at 10.30 am. The program was organized by Mr. David Chelladurai as his son met with an accident nearly a year ago. At that time he didn’t have any idea about organ donation. This made him to take the right decision on educating the public about the facts of organ donation. Thus he contacted MOHAN Foundation to organize a program. Mr. Ragavan, Transplant Coordinator and Mr. Siva Shankar, Helpline Executive represented MOHAN Foundation. The trust members honoured Mr. Ragavan and Mr. Siva Shankar with a shawl and a small gift. Mr. Ragavan started the presentation about organ donation and its facts to the people in Perambur in ACA Church. Around 60 people attended the program. As the audience knew a little bit about the cause, they were able to understand it properly. He further discussed about organs and its function, organs that can be donated. He gave a complete picture on organ donation and everyone understood it properly. Following the talk, the discussion was on how to register for a transplant, what is the difference between coma and brain death, what is cadaver donation? SOLOMON MEMORIAL TRUST has planned to a grand awareness program on June 4, 2017. 10 people pledged their organs and will receive a donor card on the 4 June 2017. MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. David Chelladurai for organizing this event and promises to support his future programs. |
