Organ Donation Awareness session at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Ltd, Bangalore |
Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Ltd, Bangalore invited MOHAN Foundation for an organ donation awareness talk as part of their CSR activity on 28th July 2016. The talk was held in the Koramangala campus. In addition, staff from other locations joined via Skype - Adugodi, Bellandur, Bommanahalli and Coimbatore. There were 30 participants.
Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director, MOHAN Foundation started the session with a video depicting people pre and post transplant and the miraculous transformation a transplant brings about not only for the patient, but the whole family. This is particularly true in deceased organ donation, where one donor can save multiple lives. She then took the audience through the What, Why, When, Where, Who and How of organ donation and transplantation. She also spoke about MOHAN Foundation and its activities in close to two decades in the field.
At the end of the session, the participants wanted more information on MOHAN Foundation’s role in the organ donation process, the role of hospitals, and the need for family consent when an individual had already pledged for organ donation.
The session was organized by the dynamic EPV CSR team represented by Ms. Anitha Siriyur and Ms. Kanchana. Their motto: Be the change you want to see. Environment and education have been the prime focus areas in their CSR journey. They have worked on Waste segregation Awareness, plantation care, sports for development and education in a government school and sponsoring ‘Gift a child’s education’ in another school. |
