SCB Medical College, Department of Nephrology and Renal transplantation, has performed 100 kidney transplantations so far.  They started transplants in April 2012, and completed 100 on 16th April 2016.  To mark the success of 100 kidney transplants, they had organised a day long CME on "Deceased Organ Donation & Transplantation" in their auditorium. 

Eminent faculty including Dr. Umesh Oza, Dr. Vijayanand Palaniswamy were invited.  Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram presented on "Grief Counseling, Motivation, and details of NOTTIO, ROTTO and SOTTO".  More than 100 doctors of Odisha, including post graduates participated in the CME. 

In the evening, Shri. Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Honourable Health Minister of Odisha came in as the Chief Guest for the celebrations.  He mentioned that his government is increasing health budget year after year, and it is his dream that people of Odisha should stay healthy, and willingly offered to help SCB Medical College & Hospital, all possible support.  Dr. Chittaranjan Kar, HOD, Department of Nephrology and Dr. Hota, HOD Department of Urology unanimously felt that Odisha should be the 9th State of India to initiate deceased organ donation program.  The Health Minister felicitated the faculty that had come from out of State. 

After the meeting, Dr. Kar introduced Mrs. Raghuram to the Health Minister, at which time she mentioned to him about the partnership that MOHAN Foundation has with other States and the possibility of working with their Government.  The Health Minister welcomed the move and requested their Director of Medical Education to take it forward.
