An Organ Donation awareness programme was conducted by MOHAN Foundation for the Social Work students at Madras School of Social Work on 13^th July 2010. About 50 students took part in the programme. 

Ms. Sujatha, Transplant Coordinator gave a presentation on Concepts of Organ Donation, Organ Donors, Transplantation of Human Organs Act 1994, Role of Family in Organ Donation. The participants raised their queries about organ sharing, recipients’ registry. Networking between the donor and the recipient hospitals, donor maintenance were taken for discussion.   

At the end of the programme, about 30 participants pledged for organ donation and took a donor card. Few students came forward and made a request to conduct such kind of awareness programme for their known communities in future.  The keen participation of the promising social workers showed their involvement for a noble cause.
