On March 9, 2025, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, an organ donation ambassador from the MOHAN Foundation, set up an organ donation information desk at a blood donation camp. The event was organized by the Jain Engineers’ Society – Goa Chapter in collaboration with SMRC’s V. M. Salgaocar Hospital, Caring Souls, and the blood bank of Goa Medical College.

The camp ran from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., attracting a large number of hospital donors. Approximately 50 individuals attended, of whom 41 were eligible to donate, while three were deferred due to medical reasons.

During the camp, Mr. Gabriel distributed around 40 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) booklets and engaged with donors about organ donation. He highlighted the importance of pledging to donate organs and explained the various ways to register as a donor. Most importantly, he emphasized the need to inform family members or next of kin, as their consent is essential for the donation process.
