On February 9, 2025, the Deepisha Cancer Centre team, in collaboration with MOHAN Foundation, successfully organized the Ulwe Walkathon - Cancer Awareness & Organ Donation Program 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 200 individuals, all united for a noble cause - raising awareness about cancer and organ donation.

The walkathon not only promoted physical fitness but also served as a crucial platform for educating the community about the life-saving potential of organ donation.

A key highlight of the event was an engaging and informative awareness session on organ donation conducted by Ms. Prarthana. She began by asking the audience a thought-provoking question—how many were familiar with organ donation. To her pleasant surprise, several children raised their hands, showcasing a commendable level of awareness at a young age.

Ms. Prarthana then elaborated on the critical difference between cardiac death and brain death, helping participants understand the medical aspects of organ donation. She also addressed common myths and misconceptions, providing factual information to dispel doubts and encourage more people to pledge as organ donors.

To maximize visibility, she placed an organ donation card on the stage and used a placard to actively engage with participants. Many attendees enthusiastically took the pledge to become organ donors and captured memorable photos with the "I am an Organ Donor" placard, showing their commitment to the cause.

Participants were awarded medals and trophies in recognition of their efforts.

The event created a celebratory yet informative atmosphere, successfully blending fitness with social responsibility.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Deepali, who expressed her gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and supporters for their valuable contributions.
