A Red-Letter Day in Indian Organ Donation Awareness

The 3rd ODI between India and England at Narendra Modi Stadium became a landmark event for promoting organ donation. The theme, "Donate Organs, Save Lives," was highlighted through various impactful activities.

Large billboards and LED boards displayed organ donation messages, while K.D. Medical College Hospital and Research Center distributed flyers, badges, and T-shirts. A special video featuring Team India encouraging pledges played before the match, and mascots representing vital organs engaged the audience. Former Indian captain Ravi Shastri led a pledge, inspiring over 22,000 people to register as organ donors on the NOTTO website.

The event was supported by NGOs like MOHAN Foundation, Donate Life, and SOTTO Gujarat, along with cricketers Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others.  Mrs. Bhavna Jagwani – Convener MFJCF witnessed the event and campaigned for pledging during the match. On this single day, over 20,000 pledges were recorded on the NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation) website, with the number expected to rise in the coming days.Thanks to the ICC and key organizers, this initiative made a significant national impact, reinforcing the importance of organ donation.
