Organ Donation Awareness Session conducted for Taloja Traffic Police Station at MIDC Taloja, Navi Mumbai.

On January 28, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the staff of the Traffic Police Station at MIDC Taloja, Navi Mumbai. The session was organized by Mr. Nagendra Yadav from the marketing department of Apollo Hospital and conducted by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi.

She introduced MOHAN Foundation as an NGO that has been passionately working for deceased organ donation for the past 23 years. She explained in detail the difference between Cardiac Death and Brain Death, elaborating on the organs and tissues that can be donated in both cases. She also introduced the participants to new advances, such as Hand Donation, and explained tissue donation (skin, eyes, and bones).

Ms. Prarthana discussed organ donation in cases of brain death and highlighted the number of lives that can be saved by sharing successful transplant stories, articles, and news about the Green Corridor. She also addressed common myths surrounding organ donation and how to debunk them with relevant facts.

Finally, she emphasized the importance of discussing organ donation within the family and encouraged participants to always carry a Donor Card in their purse or wallet.

Approximately 78 traffic officers attended the session, and 12 took the pledge to become organ donors. Informative flyers were also distributed to the staff members of the fire station. We thank the Taloja Traffic Police Station for supporting the cause of organ donation.
