‘Gift Life After Life’ Organ & Tissue Donation Sensitization Session at Dept. of Sociology & Philosophy at RTM Nagpur University. |
On November 13, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation-Nagpur conducted ‘Gift Life After Life’ an enlightening sensitization session on Organ and Tissue donation at dept. of Sociology & Philosophy students at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University campus. MOHAN Foundation’s Ambassador Mr. Devang Chhaya and Project Manager Ms. Veena Wathore, warmly welcomed by Head of the Dept. Dr. Aparna Samudra & Dr. Payal Chamatkar with a bouquet. Mr. Devang Chhaya, a dedicated MOHAN Foundation Ambassador, initiated the session by importance of Organ donation a profound final gift—an ‘आखरी तोहफा’—that one can offer to another individual in need. During his PPT presentation, Mr. Devang introduced the concept of organ donation through the lens of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THO Act). He elaborated on the types of death, including Natural and Brain death, and explained which organs can be donated under these circumstances. He also shared the youngest & Oldest deceased Organ donation happened in India. Short film on ‘Hand Transplant’ by Shreya, Sachin was shown to audience. Following Mr. Devang presentation, Ms. Veena highlighted the importance of obtaining a donor card. She engaged with the audience, answering their questions thoughtfully and ensuring that everyone left with a deeper understanding of the process and significance of organ donation. MOHAN Foundation E-Learning courses were briefly explained. The session concluded with a sense of renewed awareness and commitment among the participants to promote and support organ and tissue donation within their communities. |
