Rajasthan Team Departs for National Transplant Games 2024 in Mumbai

On 29th Nov, a team of 19 players from Rajasthan left for Mumbai to participate in the National Transplant Games 2024, scheduled to be held on 1st December. Representing the team, Hitesh Sharma, Treasurer of Kidney Patients Welfare Society, shared that the team includes kidney and liver recipients as well as donors, who will compete in such as badminton, athletics (100-200 meters sprint), table tennis, shot put, javelin throw, and ball throw. The games are organized annually by the Narmada Kidney Foundation, bringing together organ recipients and donors from across the country. Since 2018, Rajasthan has been participating under the banner of this organization, and several members of the team have also represented India in international transplant games in recent years. The primary objective of these games is to promote organ donation and dispel myths surrounding life after organ transplantation. The event aims to send a powerful message to society that both organ recipients and donors can lead healthy and fulfilling lives after transplantation. Before their departure, the Rajasthan team paid tribute to deceased organ donors at the Angdata Smarak (Organ Donor Memorial) in Jaipur.The send-off ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including: Iqbaal Khan (IAS), Commissioner of Medical Education, Dr. Rashmi Gupta, Additional Director (Medical Education), Dr. Dharmesh and Roshan from SOTTO Rajasthan, Bhavna Jagwani from MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum (MFJCF), Arun Bagadia, Governor-Elect, Rotary Club, Dr. Rohan Gupta, President, Rotary Club, Harshvardhan Singh, Secretary, Adesh Kanungo, Joint Secretary, Amit Sharma, Secretary of the Organization
