MFJCF Organ Donation Awareness Sessions at NIMS Hospital and NIMS Nursing College

On November 7, 2024, MFJCF held two impactful awareness sessions on organ donation at NIMS Hospital and NIMS Nursing College, aimed at educating the public and future healthcare providers on the life-saving importance of organ donation.

The first session took place at 12:30 PM in the reception area of NIMS Hospital, where MFJCF set up an "Ashes Model" display. This visual exhibit, symbolizing the idea that our bodies eventually return to ashes, conveyed a powerful message: by choosing to donate organs, one can create a legacy that lives on by saving lives. The model attracted attention from patients, families, and hospital staff, prompting meaningful conversations about organ donation and addressing common myths. Mrs. Priyanka Bhatt, Project Manager, led the session, while Dr.Gaurav Khandelwal, a nephrologist at NIMS Hospital, shared his insights with the attendees.

Later, at 2:00 PM, a more detailed awareness session was conducted for nursing students at

NIMS Nursing College. Led by Dr. Anushree Nair, Project Director, this session covered the

process, significance, and impact of organ donation. Donor cards were distributed, and many

students were inspired to pledge their organs, furthering their commitment to the cause.

Close to 650 participants were sensitized.
