On 30 September 2024, an organ donation stall was held at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital & Medical College in Digdoh, Hingna Road, Nagpur. Dr. Mayank Gadkari, the Administrative Officer, invited the MOHAN Foundation to set up the stall to provide information to patients and their relatives in the outpatient department (OPD) area. Mr. Bulu Behera managed the stall, offering materials such as donor cards, helpline number pamphlets, banners, brochures, and other informational resources. Visitors received valuable insights on various topics, including the definition of organ donation, eligibility for donation, and the types of death that permit tissue donation. The stall provided information on what can be donated in cases of natural death versus brain death, clarified the difference between coma and brain death, and emphasized the time sensitivity for organ transplants. Additional information was shared about age limits for donation, body donation, hand transplants, and the roles of regulatory bodies like ZTCC, SOTTO, ROTTO, and NOTTO, along with an overview of the Organ Transplant Act of 1994. Participants raised questions regarding financial support from the MOHAN Foundation, required documents for kidney transplants, and the distinction between coma and brain death. Approximately 40 patients and their relatives visited the stall, resulting in two individuals signing consent forms for organ donation.
