Awareness Session on Organ Donation Conducted for Employees at Schindler, Powai, Mumbai |
On August 9, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an informative awareness session on organ donation for Schindler employees, with 98 participants in attendance. The session, led by Ms. Jaya, provided a comprehensive overview of organ donation, including who can donate, the process, and the significance of the cause. Following the presentation, a lively discussion ensued where employees raised several pertinent questions. They inquired whether individuals can prioritize kidney donation according to personal choice after death or if they must adhere to a waiting list. Another query concerned whether a person who has undergone a kidney transplant can subsequently donate an organ or kidney to someone else. Additionally, some employees asked about the condition of their donor cards, expressing concern that their cards were damaged and whether they could renew their pledge. Ms. Jaya addressed all questions in detail, providing clarity on the donation process and encouraging ongoing commitment to organ donation. The session was not only informative but also fostered a strong sense of community and shared purpose among the employees. Ms. Jaya's engaging presentation and thoughtful responses inspired many to consider their own roles in supporting organ donation. The employees left with a renewed commitment to the cause and a better understanding of how they can contribute to saving lives. This successful engagement demonstrated the impactful role of workplace initiatives in spreading vital health messages and reinforcing the collective responsibility of supporting organ donation.
