On August 9, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation conducted a sensitization program on organ donation and transplantation for nursing officers at Terna Medical Hospital, Nerul, Navi Mumbai. The program, organized by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, Public Education Counsellor at MOHAN Foundation, was conducted with the approval of the Medical Superintendent of Terna Hospital and was led by the Chief Nursing Officer of the hospital. The session targeted nursing officers from various departments, including Trauma ICU, MICU, O.T., and SICU. Its goal was to enhance their understanding of the importance and processes of organ donation, while also emphasizing the critical role that nurses play in this life-saving procedure. The program aimed to improve the nurses' skills in identifying potential organ donors and creating a supportive environment for organ donation and transplantation within the healthcare setting. It also covered the ethical and legal aspects related to organ donation. The program was highly successful in achieving its objectives. Participants gained valuable insights into the significance and processes of organ donation and transplantation, as well as the ethical considerations involved. The interactive sessions effectively enhanced the practical skills and knowledge of the 88 nursing officers who attended and took pledge, furthering their ability to support organ donation efforts in their professional roles. |
