Rotary Club of Madras Mid-Town has planned it's 53rd Charted Day with 53 Service Projects in the year 2024. As a part of this celebration they planned a Peace Pole Erection, Road Safety awareness and Organ Donation awareness at HP Fuel Station, Anna Salai, Tenampet. The event was helped on August 20, 2024. Rtn. Vivek Anand R organized & hosted the event and ensured adequate hospitality. Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra, District Governor Rotary Club and Mr Raja S, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) were invited as the Chief Guest. The event commenced with Rtn Vivek Anand R welcoming the delegates, and honouring them. Accompanied by Rtn. Karthik Meiyappan, Chairman of Charted Day Projects, Rtn. Kamal Narendra, President and Rtn. Cecil Sundar K, Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra unveiled the Peace Pole, which contained the message “May peace prevail on earth”. Mr Raja S, inaugurated the awareness board on Traffic Rules. The dignitaries then affixed the signature on a campaign board to support organ donation. Information pamphlets on road safety & organ donation and herbal plant saplings were distributed to the public who visited the fuel station. Mr Ganesh and Ms Arshiya Fathima from MOHAN Foundation took turns manning the information desk to create awareness on organ donation. Around 200 people were sensitised and 11 pledged to be donors. |
