On Sunday, July 21, 2024, MOHAN Foundation Mumbai organized a significant Organ Donation Awareness stall at Nahar’s Nectar Field Clubhouse in Chandivali Powai, Mumbai, in celebration of Mr. Chaggan Dedhia’s 80th birthday. The event was arranged by Ms. Sonali Surendran, Mr. Dedhia’s daughter, with the support of Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi and Ms. Sakshi from MOHAN Foundation. The stall aimed to inspire the general public about the importance of organ and tissue donation.

During the event, a loudspeaker and sound system were set up to announce the presence of the organ donation information desk. Ms. Prarthana delivered an insightful talk covering various aspects of organ donation and addressed common queries from attendees. Her presentation included explanations on:

1. Tissue Donation: The significance of donating tissues such as corneas and skin.
2. Deceased Organ Donation: How a single deceased donor can save multiple lives through organ donation.
3. Cadaver Organ Donation: The process and impact of organ donation after death.
4. Body Donation: The noble act of donating one's body for medical education and research purposes.

Attendees were encouraged to participate by filling out pledge forms, which were accessible via a QR code displayed on a banner. The stall attracted 300 visitors, with MOHAN Foundation flyers distributed to 42 interested individuals. Ms. Prarthana also engaged with several enthusiastic participants who expressed interest in organizing awareness camps in their workplaces or communities.

The event concluded on a hopeful note, reflecting a future where increased awareness and participation in organ donation could save more lives and foster a culture of giving in society.
