On July 30, 2024, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness session at the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research Begumpet, Hyderabad, the session was organized with the support of Dr. Somnath, a Medical Officer, and CVS Shastry Admin, an officer from the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research, who approached the MOHAN Foundation for an awareness talk on organ donation for their staff. Dr. Bhanu Prakash was the speaker. 

Dr. Bhanu Prakash started the session by asking a few introductory questions on organ donation, then introduced the MOHAN Foundation to the participants and kept the audience engaged throughout the session. The following were discussed in detail:

• Organ donation and its need in society
• When and how does organ donation take place?
• Organs that can be donated during life and after death
• Transplant waiting list in India
• Brain death and clinical aspects of brain death
• Differences between brain death and coma
• Role of the MOHAN Foundation
• Eye donation

Dr. Bhanu motivated the audience to pledge for organ donation and explained the importance of a donor card. Brochures and donor cards were distributed at the end of the session. Mr. Dheeraj Pande, Director, AMD, and all staff appreciated MOHAN Foundation’s activities and pledged their organs.

Nearly 150 participants attended the session.
