On Sunday, June 23, 2024, MOHAN Foundation was honored to be invited as a guest speaker at a CME and workshop hosted by the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists – Nagpur Branch and the Department of Anesthesiology, Government Medical College, Nagpur. The event focused on 'Trauma & Anesthesia Challenges' and took place at APA Hall, GMC-Nagpur. The CME began with an inaugural address by Dr. Raj Gajbhiye, Dean of GMCH-Nagpur, with Dr. Jigi Diovatia, President of the Indian Society of Anesthesiology, as the chief guest. The workshop was well-attended by esteemed individuals including Dr. Megha Tajne, Head of the Department of Anesthesia at GMC-Nagpur, Dr. Gauri Arora, President of ISA-Nagpur Branch, and Dr. Dilip Wasnik, Honorary Secretary of ISA-NCB. Ms. Veena Wathore, Project Manager at MF-Nagpur, delivered a session on sensitization about organ donation. The first session featured guest speakers Dr. Rupesh Bokade on ATLS guidelines and Dr. Shubham Deshmukh on the arrival of patients in the emergency room. Dr. Saurgh Barde discussed Airway pocus & e-Fast, chaired by Dr. Charuta Gadkari & Dr. Medha Sangawar. In the second session, Dr. Gajanan Chauhan spoke on 'Head injury & Anesthesiologist perspective' while Dr. Jigi Diovatia addressed 'Airways challenges in facial trauma patients'. Dr. B.C. Bande covered Thoracic-abdominal injury, followed by a Q&A session. Dr. Dhirjaj Bandarei discussed Spine Injury and the role of anesthesiologists, and Dr. Vaishali Shelgaonkar explained strategies for fluid resuscitation in trauma. After a lunch break, a debate was held on the topic "Remuneration for Organ donation to deceased patients' relatives is justified", judged by Dr. Pratibha Deshmukh and Dr. Megha Tajne. Dr. Shulpa Nagmoti spoke in favor and Dr. Rashmi spoke against the topic. Ms. Veena Wathore concluded with a session on organ donation awareness for the delegates. The event saw participation from approximately 150 medical students. |
