On 27th December 2020, Dr Jimmy conducted an online awareness session on organ donation along with NGO Being Samajik and Sanskritik Sanstha, Jabalpur. Mr Prabhat Barman (Organiser) of Being Samajik and Sanskritik Sanstha, Jabalpur promoted and coordinated the session for Salman Khan fans on the occasion of birthday of celebrity Salman Khan along with other activities like informative stalls, competitions and blood donation camps.
Dr. Jimmy introduced MOHAN Foundation its Mission, Vision and then she explained the concept of organ and tissue donation. Then she explained types of death i.e., cardiac death, brain death. She also explained in detail about brain death declaration through apnea test and the procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation. She elaborated the procedure of skin, eye and bone donation to the gathering.
After that Dr. Jimmy explained the barriers of organ donation i.e., myths and facts related to organ donation and its impacts. She also explained about the donor card and how one can become an organ donor and elaborated on the volunteering training activities conducted by MOHAN Foundation for volunteers interested to support the noble cause of organ donation. Dr. Jimmy answered all the queries of the participants promptly.
About 25 participants attended the session & pledged online to become an organ donor. We would like to thank Mr Prabhat of Barman Being Samajik and Sanskritik Sanstha, Jabalpur for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
