Virtual Organ Donation Awareness session for the employees of Ceratizit India Pvt Ltd.

  • On July 23, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted a virtual organ donation awareness session for the employees of Ceratizit India Pvt. Ltd. Ms. Latha Reddy, Team Lead Partner at Awareness for Life, Dr. Reddy Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE), requested the Foundation to conduct the session. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer at MOHAN Foundation, Chennai, served as the speaker for the virtual session. Dr. Reddy Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE), through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) partners, has enlisted many government and corporate entities to participate in this organ donation awareness initiative. The session at Ceratizit India Pvt. Ltd. was the first of many scheduled for the coming week. Dr Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer at MOHAN Foundation, Chennai served as the speaker for the virtual session.

     

    Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education (DRFHE) enhances patient care through training and awareness initiatives. The training vertical focuses on improving interpersonal skills among healthcare stakeholders with programs like Inner Circle for young doctors, Abhilasha for nurses, Sarathi for physicians' assistants and front office staff, and Sanjeevani for pharmacists. The awareness vertical combats non-communicable diseases by educating corporate employees about lifestyle diseases, their causes, early detection, prevention, and timely treatment through the Awareness for Life program.

     

    The CERATIZIT Group is a manufacturer of hard material products for wear protection and cutting tools. Their constant innovation in materials and applications has led to the creation of numerous machines, tools, and consumer goods that are integral to everyday life.

     

    The session began with Dr Hemal introducing the work of the MOHAN Foundation. She provided the audience with an overview of the need for organ donation, explaining who can donate and what organs can be donated. The concept of brain death was elucidated through a video presentation. She also highlighted common perceptions and myths surrounding organ donation. Additionally, she shared stories of organ donors and explained the process for pledging to donate organs.

     

    Dr. Hemal emphasized the significance of proactive discussions within families regarding organ donation, which can facilitate smoother processes when critical decisions need to be made. Overall, the session proved to be engaging and informative. Dr Hemal thanked the organizers for initiating the discussion in support of humanity. The session concluded with a call to action, urging everyone to proudly become organ donors and make a pledge.

     

    Approximately 35 participants attended the session.
